About Charbitat

Charbitat is a project whose goal is to create an environment in which space is procedurally generated based on the player's behavior. There are a variety of games in which the player makes moral decisions (Fable, Geneforge, KotOR), and those decisions affect the state of the game, as well as the appearance of the player's avatar. The idea with Charbitat was to take that concept, but instead of changing the player's avatar, the decisions affect the space of the game itself.

Upon entering Charbitat, the player starts out on a tile in the world that is effectively neutral, but depending on what creatures the player fights, the elemental makeup of the next tile will change. Based on these elements, the appearance, terrain, and objects in the tile will vary, leading to a diversity of potential areas that the player can create and explore.
